Raps beat Cavs 101-81

Good win boys. The Cavs will struggle to get wins this year so I’m glad we got the points. Good to see the whole team have a solid night. I know it’s the Cavs but a win is a win and just a reminder; the Cavs beat the Celtics this year. This just tells me that there may be more parity in this league than one would guess.

Anyway, last nights game, being referred to as the battle of the jilted, had the Raptors looking like the better team for the most part. However, at the end was some controversy. Should the team have gone for that final alley-oop that made the game a 20 point win from a 18 point win? Jay Triano initially was pissed, Bron Scott didn’t look too impressed but the crowd went WILD. You see those final points meant Pizza for everyone with a game ticket. It was NOT about disrespect. What I don’t get is if there was no Pizza involved the Raptors would be chastised around the league for running the score up. Why? Isn’t the point of the game to score more than your opponent? If that’s the case, how can you tell a professional player to play hard every time he/she plays but expect them to be able turn it off to save the feelings of the other team? First of all, pro sport is business and for a business to be effective you need to eliminate all emotion. Also, every pro player is an adult – well mostly anyway. As an adult you should be able to handle losing even if you were on the receiving end of a beating. To me, in competition you are supposed to have NO mercy unless there is a physical injury. Keep going until the final whistle, buzzer or horn.

Yes the win restored my confidence that its possible that the raps could possibly challenge for a spot higher than last in the conference and its our bench that will determine that. Our bench is so strong or our starters so weak that there is little if any drop off if any when the 2nd unit enters the game. However might make for a lot of playing catch up. But it seems we have enough grit to make games interesting. Miami starting to look like what we knew they could be and Boston looking what they might be – old season will be interesting and my Lakers may be even better than before. As for hitting the 100 in a 20 point game who cares like you said a beating is a beating there’s no mercy rule in sports and in an era where fans get exploited we better get the pizza for those 50 nosebleed seats. I remember the expansion days losing to atlanta and seeing willis run past and flex on us. Then we got Vince and no matter what the score someone on the other team would get crowned and that was what was remembered not even who won. If you want some class go play golf or cricket maaaaan!

I love Reggie Evans stats line right now. He’s averaging 1PPG and 15RPG.

All he needs to do is cross dress, and he’s the new Denis Rodman.

He needs to die the beard blonde too I think!
